"Louvre Atlanta" at the High Museum
... "Louvre Atlanta is an unprecedented partnership between the High Museum of Art and the Musee du Louvre in Paris that will bring hundreds of works of art from the Louvre's collections to Atlanta. Built around specific themes and periods, the High will present a series of long-term special presentations of art from the Louvre beginning October 2006 through 2009. Over the course of the three-year partnership, Louvre Atlanta will trace the history and development of the Louvre from the 17th century through the present. The collaboration will also include the exchange of cultural expertise and operational strategies, as well as educational programs and the development of joint bilingual publications, conferences, films and seminars exploring exhibitions and related themes ... The Royal Collections (October 2006 - September 2007): The royal collections today make up the heart of the Louvre's outstanding holdings. The Year One exhibitions include paintings, sculptures, antiquities, drawings, and decorative arts from the collections of the Kings of France."
